HOPI operates in the field of warehouse services. The average daily shipping volume is 15,000 pallets. The QTir check-in system has become an indispensable part of the automated processes that are central to handling such a large volume of shipments.

Clearance system adapted to the needs of a logistics facility

The clearance system continuously retrieves information about announced shipments from the customer’s internal system. At the entrance to the outer car park, the number plates of all arriving vehicles are continuously scanned and accurate identification is made by comparison with the vehicle records in the database. Truck drivers arriving at the site register their transport on a self-service outdoor kiosk using a touch screen. Information on registered transports is immediately available to all stations (porterage, parking management, check-in depots, control room). Transports can be called up to specific check-in points. The recall is carried out by means of an SMS message sent to the truck driver’s mobile phone. All vehicles passing through the gateway to the premises are identified by cameras with recording and reading of license plates. The passage through the gate is controlled by doormen who work with a tablet with the QTir application. They use the tablet to obtain information about eligibility for entry, record the transport data and take photographs (which are sent on-line in time to the customer’s internal system). The departure of the vehicles from the premises is again controlled by the doormen, using a tablet with the QTir app, which obtains information on the eligibility for departure based on the license plate read by the camera and informs the doormen whether all the necessary clearance operations have been completed.

Speed of dispatch depends on every step of the check-in process
